"I love my work."
I feel very lucky to be doing what I do. Every working day, I see both simple and challenging cases walk through my clinic door. Whether someone wants to quit smoking, is stressed from day-to-day life, wants help with a drug addiction, or is in pain - I am amazed to see the results that appear using laser in my practice.
My treatment style has evolved over since graduating years ago in Honours from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy. Given my martial arts background, I was naturally drawn early in my massage career to the ancient and hands on art of acupressure. As a result, shortly after earning my massage license I found myself in Thailand during an extended honeymoon learning traditional Thai Massage. Upon returning home, I sought a more contemporary and modern approach to acutherapy so enlisted myself and successfully completed the McMaster University Medical Acupuncture Training Program.
Having learned and applied both a traditional and more modern scientific approach to acupressure and acupuncture in my practice for awhile, I then moved on to learning about laser therapy. My initial experience with laser therapy was as a patient! Having run a very busy massage practice for awhile I found my arms in pain despite my best efforts to treat myself and pursuing more traditional therapy with peers. Eventually I found a local practitioner who employed laser therapy in their practice and was simply amazed at how fast and curative the results were using this modern approach to healing! Right then and there I made a commitment to learning more about laser and also to incorporate it into my massage practice so I could share these results with my own patients.
After exhaustive research (over a year) of the laser therapy equipment market place and testing different models, I set my sites on investing into a laser device designed and produced by a European company. After all, I discovered the Europeans more or less discovered the healing qualities of laser and had been researching and producing this technology the longest. Eventually I came across RJ Lasers from Germany. Right from initial contact with this company, I was impressed with their products, expertise, service and most of all their patience with all my questions. Shortly thereafter I invested into my first RJ Laser device. The healing results I procured with my patients were simply amazing right from the beginning. Laser not only transformed many of my patient's expectations for healing and recovery from pain and addiction but it has also transformed my practice and enjoyment of what I do for a living. I am very thankful and grateful I discovered this healing technology early on in my massage and addiction practice, as I have had the time to thoroughly become an expert with it.
I am very impressed with the powerful healing effect of laser light, it can be used for so many conditions. We are truly at the cusp of a revolution in healing, as never before has the public had such a consistently effective alternative to symptom-chasing pharmaceutical medications. I am excited to offer my patients a safe and unique form of laser light therapy, as my training and experience with laser is built on a strong foundation of professional knowledge in medical acupuncture and massage therapy.
When I'm not working, I spend most of
my spare time with my family. Living in the Central Frederick Neighbourhood
in Kitchener, my family and I can be found on most Saturday mornings at
the Kitchener Farmer’s Market. My other interests include white water
kayaking, canoeing, working out, reading, photography, learning more about laser/trying new approaches and just taking it
easy when my 3 kids allow it.
To your health!
