LAZER DAVE VIDEO UPDATE

ONTARIO'S LASER THERAPY EXPERT

Serving the laser acupuncture and laser therapy to quit smoking, weight loss, addiction and infertility needs of Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, Galt, Preston, Guelph, Hamilton, Toronto, Mississauga, London, Brantford, Paris, Stratford, Acton, Milton, Ayr, Woodstock, Fergus, Elora, Elmira and surrounding areas.

Lazer Dave uses multiple laser devices in his treatments that promote strong results.

SPECIALIZING IN LASER ACUPUNCTURE

No needles pierce the skin as in traditional acupuncture. This is acupuncture "without the puncture". Only gentle low-intensity laser light is applied to acupuncture points to promote a natural healing response. Laser light is not only more comfortable then traditional needle acupuncture, but in Dave's clinical experience more effective as well.

Auricular laser therapy is a needle and pain free method of stimulating ear acupuncture points for addictions (like nicotine, sugar, caffeine, drugs, etc.), fertility, pain and stress.

About Infertility

Infertility rates continue to grow as prevalence has nearly TRIPLED in the last 25 years. Approximately 15% of the population face fertility challenges. In many cases the fertility problem is not a female concern as 40-45% of cases rest with the male being responsible. The underlying causes of infertility are often complicated and challenging to specifically diagnosis (especially males). However fertility experts do agree on one thing and that is women waiting to become pregnant until they are older is a major factor that contributes to decreased rates of successful pregnancies.

Fortunately, a relatively new and clinically proven treatment utilizing laser therapy can increase successful pregnancy rates, even in older women.

Laser Therapy: A Safe & Effective Treatment For Infertility Issues

Gentle laser light is applied to specific acupuncture points of the hands, lower legs, and ear in addition to the reproductive organ areas of the lower abdomen (without the use of acupuncture needles).

The goal of this more natural, non-invasive, safe and clinically-tested approach is to stimulate blood flow to the reproductive organs and enhance overall cellular production of energy. Laser therapy has been proven to increase the chances of pregnancy, even in challenging fertility situations where women are pursuing Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART).

Recent clinical trials are demonstrating that laser therapy significantly boosts pregnancy rates of women and men. This even applies to women who have been historically unsuccessful with assisted reproduction treatments like In Vitro fertilization (IVF).

It has been Lazer Dave's clinical experience that laser can yield dramatic results for people facing challenging reproductive issues*.

Fertility conditions or situations that are treatable using laser therapy:

  • Advanced Maternal Age
  • Poor Ova or Egg Quality
  • Amenorrhea
  • Elevated Follicle stimulating hormone (FSH)
  • Endometriosis
  • Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
  • Irregular menstrual cycle
  • Male infertility - poor sperm/semen quality
  • Sexual Transmitted Disease (STI) damage (scar tissue) from Gonorrhea, Chlamydia and HPV
  • Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID)
  • Ovarian cysts
  • Painful menstruation
  • Intrauterine Insemination (IUI)
  • In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)
  • Premature menopause
  • Hormonal imbalance
  • Fibroids (inflammation and scar tissue
  • Uterine or edometrial polyps (inflammation and scar tissue)
  • Reduced blood circulation to the uterus or ovaries (can be caused by age, inactivity, arteriosclerosis, scar tissue from earlier surgeries or abdominal infections
  • Muscle tension/fascia restritions in the areas surrounding the reproductive organs, which can block both nerve and vascular supply
  • History of recurring infections/inflammation in the abdomen due to herpes, candida (fungus), allergies

Many of the above issues can be difficult to diagnose. As a result, laser therapy is especially relevant if you are having difficulty becoming pregnant without a known cause.

Laser Therapy Fertility Research

Western medicine has traditionally maintained that declining egg quality associated with ageing go hand-in-hand and is irreversible.

Despite this common opinion, cutting edge research using low level laser light conducted in Japan and Denmark demonstrates that it is possible to improve fertility in women and men by slowing down the aging process and improving egg quality.

So what do the studies show? Essentially the research demonstrates that applying laser therapy over the reproductive organs (i.e. ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus, etc.) and specific acupuncture points can do the following:

  • Increase blood flow to the reproductive organs
  • Enhance mitochondrial/ATP activity in the cells
  • Reduce oxidative damage
  • COMBINED RESULTS: increase the chances of conceiving, in some cases dramatically*

Recent clinical results in Denmark report that laser therapy resulted in a pregnancy rate of 66% success for women after at least 4 years of failure with other assisted reproductive technology (ART) approaches.

In Japan, studies demonstrate a connection between laser therapy and improved fertility. Even in low doses, laser therapy can improve women's chances of conception. Dr Toshio Ohshiro at Sanno Hospital in Japan demonstrated during an extended trial that when laser therapy was performed in 701 infertile patients, 22.3% (156) became pregnant. It is reported that just over half (50.1%) reported a successful live birth rate.

The clinical explanation for the differing results between the Denmark and Japanese studies is that in the Japanese study laser therapy was not directly applied to the reproductive organs. Dave targets the reproductive organs directly with laser therapy in addition to acupuncture points for his laser fertility treatments.

These recent clinical trials and Dave's clinical experience using laser for fertility in his own practice is GOOD NEWS for those facing fertility hurdles and wishing to conceive. Read on to discover the science behind this effective technology.

The Science Behind Laser For Infertility Issues

All cells in the body are powered by battery like structures called mitochondria. Ova (egg cells in women) have about 200 times the mitochondria than other cells. When eggs or ova are maturing, they use an incredible amount of energy, especially during embryo implantation and division. When a women reaches approximately 35 years of age, the mitochondria begin to degrade. At approximately 40 years of age, 9 out 10 eggs are abnormal.

Studies show that the mitochondria of older ova or eggs typically produce considerably less adenosine triphosphate (ATP). ATP is the source of a cell's energy. This has a serious impact on fertility, as the rate of division and successful outcomes of embryo implantation are reduced when less ATP are present in the cell. The amount of ATP or energy present in ova or eggs is a much more important factor in fertility then the actual maternal age of a woman, especially as it relates to the use of laser therapy. Recent science demonstrates that laser therapy is a game changer in this regard as we now know it has been proven to enhance ATP production.

Moreover, it is well known that older follicles have fewer defensive capabilities against oxidative stress which causes cellular damage. This has a direct impact on In Vitro Fertility (IVF) outcomes. Studies show that laser therapy treatment positively influences IVF success rates.

Increasing energy levels (ATP), improving blood circulation, reduction of scar tissue and inflammation are all very beneficial to the female's reproduction potential.

Summary Of Laser Effects & Benefits

General Effects Of Laser Therapy

Increased production and release of:

  •  Endorphins – reduce pain and stress naturally
  •  Growth hormone – instrumental in tissue repair
  •  ATP – improves and regulates cellular metabolism and rejuvenates cells
  •  Increased protein synthesis – collagen, DNA, fibroblasts
  •  Venous and lymphatic flow facilitated
  •  Increased angiogenesis – elevation of oxygen saturation in tissues

Clinical Benefits Of Laser Therapy Specifically For Infertility Issues

  • Increases blood flow to the reproductive system
  • Increase chances of conception and live birth
  • Regulate inflammation (reduces accelerated biological aging)
  • Laser therapy is also softens and reduces scar tissue which contributes to infertility from causes such as abdominal surgeries and endometriosis
  • Reduces pain
  • Non-invasive
  • Non-toxic
  • No known adverse effects
  • No drug interactions
  • Provides a treatment alternative for patients that have not responded to conventional therapies
  • For men the benefits of laser therapy can be dramatic as sperm count in semen has been documented in certain cases to to rise from 2 million/ml to more than 40 million/ml

How Does Acupuncture With Needles Compare To Laser Acupuncture ?

While traditional Chinese acupuncture has been shown to be effective in the treatment of various infertility issues, laser acupuncture or laser therapy has been shown to have an even higher rate of success. Plus laser light is very comfortable and relaxing, as opposed to the potential discomfort associated with traditional acupuncture needles.

A 2008 study reported in Fertility & Sterility magazine found that “implantation rates were significantly improved with laser acupuncture” when patients are treated with laser acupuncture before and after embryo transfer.

How Many Laser Therapy Treatments Do I Need For Infertility ?

These are general guidelines, your individual situation needs to be assessed and a tailor made treatment plan developed:

  • Laser therapy at least 6 times in the weeks leading up to ovulation, In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) and any other Assisted Reproduction Technology (ART).
  • Usual start date for laser treatment is on the first day of menstruation, where 6 treatments are applied over 2 weeks. When ovulation is expected, insemination (natural or otherwise) is attempted. Since laser therapy is contraindicated when a female is pregnant, laser treatment ceases after insemination. If menstruation starts, the client may choose to start laser treatment again as soon as possible. When results are positive, it typically happens within the first 3 months of laser treatment, and very often after the first 2 weeks of laser therapy.
  • If client is doing In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) then same as above until stimulation phase - 3 times per week during stimulation until the ova (eggs) are retrieved
  • If client is doing Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET) then 3 times per week until the embryo is transferred
  • On transfer day for Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET), Lazer Dave can offer laser therapy treatment before and after transfer
  • Women over 40 should expect the need for more frequent treatments and a lower success rate
  • Most men should experience an increase in the quality of their semen after only 3 treatments

What To Expect On Your First Laser Treatment For Fertility Issues...

When you come for your first laser therapy treatment for infertility issues with Dave Hanemaayer at his clinic (101 Lydia Street, Kitchener), Dave will first conduct a detailed health history assessment. This is also your time to address any remaining concerns or questions. Then, he will introduce and explain the laser devices he will use for your laser treatment(s).

Next, he will have you relax by lying down on a comfortable treatment table and have you put on protective eye wear. For the most part you will remain clothed during your treatment (except the abdomen area). Dave will begin treatment by applying gentle laser light to acupoints on your face, neck, arms, and legs. Simultaneously, he will also use a specialized laser device to treat your lower abdominal area in order to stimulate directly the reproductive organs.

Most clients find treatment extremely relaxing and some even fall asleep for a short nap. You may feel a slight warm sensation through your body or a relaxing "heaviness" in your arms and legs. As the necessary points and areas are stimulated with the laser light, your body should begin to release endorphins and other powerful neuro-chemicals which promote a pleasant sense of calmness.

At the conclusion of treatment, Dave will ask you to slowly get up and before you leave book or confirm your next treatment date(s) and time(s).

Does Dave Need To Consult With My Doctor Or Naturopathic Doctor ?

Dave generally does not need to consult directly with your family physician, fertility specialist or Naturopathic Doctor unless your infertility condition is especially challenging and would benefit from collaboration.

Dave is of course receptive to questions or concerns from your fertility specialist(s) who may be new to the use and proven benefits of laser therapy for infertility concerns.

Your family physician, fertility specialist, Naturopathic Doctor, or any other therapist you are concurrently seeking professional treatment from for your fertility concern(s) should be aware of your laser therapy treatments. This will allow them to factor laser therapy into any Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) treatment plan and/or general fertility treatment plan.

Is Laser Therapy Safe ?

Yes. Laser therapy is safe and painless. There are few if any absolute contraindications to treatment. There have been over 5000+ scientific studies completed on laser therapy and no serious side effects have ever been recorded. Any potential minor side effects will be discussed with you before your treatment(s).

How Effective Is Laser Therapy For Infertility Issues ?

Recent clinical trials out of Denmark show laser therapy had a 66% pregnancy success rate for women after at least 4 years of failure with other assisted reproductive technology (ART) approaches.

Based on Dave's clinical experience using laser for fertility issues, he estimates his rate of success higher than the Denmark results*. He attributes these results to a "combined" therapeutic approach by not only using laser locally on the reproductive areas of the lower abdomen, but also stimulating acupuncture points (no needles, just gentle laser light) on the neck, face, arms and legs. This approach likely promotes compounded and synergistic results, with the end result of increased chances for higher pregnancy rates*.

*Results cannot be guaranteed.

When Is The Best Time To Book ?

For most infertility related health concerns, it is optimal to start early in the follicular phase of your cycle.

However, if you have a long standing chronic condition where you have significant scar tissue in the abdominal area due to previous surgery, Sexual Transmitted Disease (STI), endometriosis, Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID) or similar, then the timing of treatments is not as critical.

During your first appointment, the consultation process will help Dave develop and propose a treatment plan detailing the amount and frequency of treatments. The treatment plan will be based on your unique infertility challenges and individual situation.
